Given that the primary partner of GACD and Districts is NRCS, this proposal was offered to reorganize GACD from five groups to four groups, and to align the structure to generally coincide with the current NRCS Areas 1-4. The proposal was approved by the membership body during General Session of the 2019 Annual Meeting.
There will be four Group Trainings this fall instead of five. All Group VPs and Alternates, including Group 5 VP and Alternate, please assume your regular duties until the change officially takes place.
The reduction in groups caused some Districts to move to a new GACD group. These changes are outlined below.
New Group Assignments
GROUP I - Catoosa County, Clayton County, Cobb County, Coosa River, DeKalb County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County, Henry County, Lamar County, Limestone Valley, Pine Mountain, Rockdale County, Roosevelt, Towaliga, West Georgia.
GROUP II - Blue Ridge Mountain, Brier Creek, Broad River, Columbia County, Hall County, Lincoln County, McDuffie County, Oconee River, Piedmont, Stephens County, Upper Chattahoochee River, Upper Ocmulgee River, Walton County, Warren County.
GROUP III- Flint River, Lower Chattahoochee River, Middle South Georgia, and Ocmulgee River.
GROUP IV - Alapaha, Altamaha, Central Georgia, Coastal, Ogeechee River, Ohoopee River, Satilla River.
